High and Low - Too soon to tell
I cannot remember the last July which started with such lushness in the garden and no brown patches in the lawn. That is the positive when early summer is filled with gray skies and wet weather. When the sun does come out it is appreciated much more than the routine days of a normal summer. The view through the garden gate is just about perfect if you excuse the furniture. I hope you enjoy it almost as much as I do.
It's one of my favorite views into your garden Layanee...although, there are several I wish I could duplicate in my own garden, too! The astilbe from your header being one of them. Can you hear the almost whine in my voice? Have a sweet weekend. gail
LAYANEE SAYS: Oh but there is no sweeter garden than the one you left at home. Come back soon.

That is just beautiful! Now aren't you glad you got all that rain? :)
LAYANEE SAYS: Yes I am!

Very pretty!
LAYANEE SAYS: Thanks!

The view of just the gate is spectacular enough. I love your sculpture on it & the Clematis and Roses around it.
LAYANEE SAYS: Thank you MMD! You have way more clematis though and I love yours on the trellises!

I think the furniture looks very inviting sitting there. AND those big tall delphinium (?) in the back. WOW.
LAYANEE SAYS: They took a beating with the thunder storms but I am working on more delphiniums for this area. They are just so stately.

Not only are the plants lovely all around and through the gate, the gate itself is a work of art. Wish I could send you some HOT sun!
LAYANEE SAYS: The EM is responsible for making the gate. He is talented. Sun is now here but it is quite cool for July. Low 70's which I love.

I'm with Lisa, the furniture looks very inviting indeed! You know I love that garden gate. Let's plan a visit soon. Will you be down my way at all?
LAYANEE SAYS: Are you coming this way anytime soon?

I don't know - I think the furniture looks just fine. It's there for a reason - to plop down your trowel, or hold your starbucks, or just to toss your sweater over after you take it off from getting hot after you walk through after coming home, see a couple of weeds, and then get down on your hands and knees for a bit too long to weed.
LAYANEE SAYS: All good ideas for the furniture.

Hi Layanee, I loved going on through your gate with Gail's post too! She even sent me large pictures so I could see everything in detail. Love that greenhouse/office and the ferny whale ledge, or is the Ledge? :-)
Frances
LAYANEE SAYS: Ferny whale ledge is a good name. You must come to visit sometime. Our sister planters would want us to meet. Time to share another photo of those don't you think?

Layanee, add your garden to the list of those I simply must see for myself some day!
LAYANEE SAYS: You are welcome any time!

The furniture looks pretty awesome, as well! I had the chance to be in New England over these past few days, and it was about as lush and glorious as I remember it ever being! Ignore the fact that everything is "squishy," and delight in the beautiful shades of green!
LAYANEE SAYS: I would have loved you to visit but I know you were pressed for time. I will look forward to the pictures of Celia Thaxter's garden.

A beautiful view, Layanee! Isn't it nice not to have to spend every day watering the garden this summer? I visited Gail's post earlier and saw even more views of your garden--what fun the two of you must have had!
LAYANEE SAYS: Yes it is although I did have to water some newly planted cukes today. Gail's visit was such a treat!

Hi Layanee, thanks for visiting me so I could link back to you! Your garden looks so inviting ;) I think gates in pics make the garden look prettier! I'll come back for a further visit soon. Have a great day!
Lynn
LAYANEE SAYS: My pleasure and I will visit you again also.

It's lovely! I know that rain and cool weather is making you feel like you're still in England, right? Enjoy the lushness.
LAYANEE SAYS: I thought that would be the case but England was warm and sunny. Who knew!

Here in my garden I find the same! Lush and green makes for a beautiful backdrop for our glorious garden flowers!
I love this view from your gate!
LAYANEE SAYS: Thank you and welcome!
